is been in a great depression. just listening to the songs that as down as I am.

P Marius
music, lyrics: Brett Anderson

As I sit and watch The summertime,
And the shadow of The cranes.
By the branches of The cedar tree
And the beating of The day.
You are the rose Within my soul.
You are the reason Why the wind blows.
By the meeting of The roads
I will hold you In my arms again.
And we’ll sit under The cedar tree
As the city Fades away.
By the places Where the blossom falls
And the shadow of The cranes.
You are the rose Within my soul,
You are the reason Why the rain flows.
By the meeting of The roads
I will hold you In my arms again.
By the branches of The cedar tree,
There’s a bench Beside the lake.
Take the bridge Over the Serpentine,
And I’ll see you Once again

Nothing ever goes right
Nothing really flows in my life
No one really cares if no one ever shares my care
People push by with fear in their eyes in my life

Love is dead, love is dead

The telephone rings, but no one ever thinks to speak to me
The traffic speeds by, but no one’s ever stopped too late
Intelligent friends don’t care in the end, believe me

Love is dead, love is dead

And plastic people with imaginary smiles
Exchanging secrets at the back of their minds
Plastic people
Plastic people

Nothing ever goes right
Nothing really flows in my life
No one really cares if this horror’s inside my head

People push by with fear in their eyes in my life

Love is dead, love is dead
Love is dead, love is dead
Love is dead, love is dead

And all the lies that you’ve given us
And all the things things that you said

And all the lies that you’ve given us…
Blow like wind in my head

I have finished brett’s third solo work named Slow Attack which I was looking forward ...

I have finished brett’s third solo work named Slow Attack which I was looking forward to hearing it for so long. The songs are mainly featured with woodwind-instruments, besides it have completely departed from brett’s trait, his stationary old sounds. However I was quiet confused after finishing the album. Brett Anderson absolutely transfered himself to something I cant recognize at all by composing these absolutely beautiful and melancholic melody.

Lets have a little flash back. Brett released his first solo album in 2007 which contained a notable song titled “love is dead” which is really impressive for me. The song sounds really dark and tragically heroic by the thoughtful string line, simultaneously reflected the darkest part of his mind. Then the second album “wilderness” is very plain, which is full of piano and string loop only. Brett has apparently became an indie singing songwriter. Moreover I still think that those post-suede songs are still Brett-style things.

But the third one “Slow Attack” is produced by Brett and his new partner Leo Abrahams in the winter of London. The album is like a pale dream, a withering flower, which is very atmospheric, but not as emotional as his previous works. I cant find any piece of scent of britpop sounds in “Slow Attack” anymore. The album perhaps is the most violent departure between Brett and his past. Certainly the most lovely one for me is “the hunted” which will also be the single. An implicitly sorrowful song that I have been listened for so long before the album is out.

Lately I discovered that Brett have done some tours in various South America Country like Chile and Lima. I found that Brett looks good, his performance is rock and vivid once again. He also did “The Hunted” in the show as well as he covered it to be a band version. I think it is even better than the album one, so does his costume. I better come back to the subject. The weather here have changed, atmosphere of the season is just like the emotion you can find in “slow attack”. Autumn is quite a complicated season, as if the album is simultaneously mixed with hopeful prettiness and beautiful melancholy.

[flashvideo file=http://dadazim.com/journal/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/asphalt.mp3 /]

I know a girl she walks the asphalt world
She comes to me and I supply her with Ecstasy
Sometimes we ride in a taxi to the ends of the city
Like big stars in the back seat like skeletons ever so pretty
I know a girl she walks the asphalt world

But where does she go?
And what does she do?
And how does she feel when she’s next to you?
And who does she love in time-honoured fur?
Is it me or her?

I know a girl she walks the asphalt world
She’s got a friend, they share mascara I pretend
Sometimes they fly from the covers to the winter of the river
For these silent stars of the cinema
It’s in the blood stream, it’s in the liver
I know a girl, she walks the arse felt world

But where does she go?
And what does she do?
And how does she feel when she’s next to you?
And who does she love in time-honoured fur?
Is it me or is it her?

With ice in her blood
And a Dove in her head
Well how does she feel when she’s in your bed?
When you’re there in her arms
And there in her legs
Well I’ll be in her head

Cos that’s where I go
And that’s what I do
And that’s how it feels when the sex turns cruel
Yes both of us need her, this is the asphalt world

The album is finished and the title is Slow Attack. As yet unsequenced ...

Brett Anderson

The album is finished and the title is Slow Attack. As yet unsequenced and un-mixed , it will probably contain up to 12 completely new tracks mainly written by Leo and myself. heavily featuring woodwind , it is fuller, stranger and more complex than the last two solo albums and influenced by Leo’s command of atmospherics and his classical training. The decision to use woodwind as a primary colour on our palette of sound was inspired by the work of Mark Hollis , an artist whose constant devellopment and distorsion of the pop model we both found fascinating.

However, don’t expect the record to sound like Talk Talk or anything else for that matter..we have carved these influences into our own shape and the outcome is a record which to me sounds like nothing i have ever done before. It goes without saying that i am immensely proud of this body of work and extremely excited for the world to hear it.

I anticipate that it will be released in autumn this year but you’ll forgive me if at this stage i cannot be more specific. of course live shows will follow , the format of which i have yet to decide. one thing is certain though, they will be different from those on the Wilderness tour.

via: Suede@Facebook

所謂死亡的味道，就是諸如他介紹「its a song about fucking」並唱起《Infinite Kiss》的時候，那種緩緩上升的濃烈氣氛。 《To The Winter》、《Love Is Dead》等氣氛相近，就是一陣一陣揮之不去的悲壯。

Brett

M: MiLk
B: Brett Anderson

M: Brett

B: 去年我最喜歡聽的事MIDLAKE的《THE TRIALS OF VAN OCCUPANTHER》，另外BAT FOR LASHES、BRIAN ENO也很好。

B A Songs

[rating:8/10]
