		<description>Jesus asked us to carry our own cross (death sentence) to follow him. It can be an obsession, I guess. But is love an obsession? Just because something compels you so much, or just because you&#039;re willing to give up---does that make it an obsession regardless of how &quot;rational&quot; the choice was made?

Having said that, yes, it makes me wonder too. I&#039;d hope that those who were strong in faith have genuinely heard the voice of God (whichever way) and been reassured by the Holy Spirit. But you are right to doubt, especially when the cost is so great we&#039;d hope that the person better got it right---it better be something backed up by the almighty, all knowing, loving God, as opposed to being simply delusional...
But then again, even if someone is delusional, or considered psychological ill in our era, doesn&#039;t mean God can&#039;t use that, does it? Can a parallel be drawn with demon possession?</description>
